
Julie Hodges was introduced to Iyengar yoga in 1993, while living
in Glasgow. She was immediately drawn to the
practice, a practice that continues to inspire and teach her every day. She has been a student of senior Iyengar Teacher Pixie Lilas since 1997, and continues ongoing training with her in Sydney.
She has been teaching yoga since 1996 and is a certified Intermediate Junior Level 1 Iyengar teacher. In 2007 she graduated with a PhD titled 'THe Practice of Iyengar Yoga by Mid-aged Women: An Ancient Tradition in a Modern Life'.
Liz Costigan is a certified Yoga and Pilates Teacher who has been practicing
yoga for eighteen years and teaching for seven. Liz is currently studying Iyengar Yoga under Senior Teacher Maurizio Simon
Marrocco, and has completed her Intro Level I. She is the Founder of Byron Iyengar Yoga and The Yoga Lounge. "Yoga is one of my best friends. I find it liberating for my body, mind and soul."
Liz teaches both dynamic and restorative classes. Emphasis is placed on safety and alignment and adapting the practice to suit individual body types. Liz has a background as a registered nurse and has a Bachelor of Health Science Degree.

Claire moved to Byron Bay in 1996 and continued to practice for 8 years.
Claire met Maurizio Simon Morocco in 2004 and began her teacher training with him.
She attained her Level I Teaching Certificate in 2005 and began teaching at the Belongil Yoga School.
She is currently an accredited Level II teacher and is teaching at the Byron Yoga Lounge.
Claire also holds Massage Certificate Level I and has attained Reiki Level I and II

Karena Williams a certified yoga teacher has been actively involved in yoga both
professionally and privately
for the last six years.
Karena began her apprenticeship at The Byron Yoga Centre in 2001, and for the past 4 years has been teaching regular classes at the Centre. Karena is presently studying with Principal Maurizio Simon Marrocco.
Iyengar Yoga has shaped her teaching to focus on safety, core strength,breath awareness and meditation.
Karena is passionate about empowering students with the knowledge of how to work with injuries and within their own capacity with joy, fun and awareness.
Attending her class, you can expect to be challenged physically, move towards an inner peace and acceptance as well as a lighthearted approach to the joy and wisdom that is Yoga!

Lara Favelle has been practising yoga for 6 years in which time it has become an increasingly large part of
her life, which has lead her to teaching her own classes in Lennox Head.
Recently completing Level I Iyengar teacher training with Maurizio Simon Marrocco,
Lara continues to study the Iyengar system exploring the principles behind the sequencing and alignment of the asana's.
Following the guidelines of Patangali's eight fold path, Lara's teaching explores the physiological benefits that the practice of asana's brings to the body.
